was a hallmark of his chairmanship on the Rappahannock County Board of Supervisors. The partnership between a united citizenry and a board of elected officials that have been on the same page is in large part due to Pete Estes and his love for the county where he was born and raised. Estes was a teacher. His classroom was the community and everyone who came in contact with him learned something - either about what makes good apple cider or ^ Sperryville history or about themselves and their rhythm with the world around them. Estes was known to be unflinching in his beliefs, stubborn, proud and a man of great integrity and forthrightness. Estes had a keen wit and a great sense of humor. Pete Estes will be missed. His loss will be felt by not only his family but by the greater community that he served. He leaves in body but not in spirit. Forced to let him go, the legacy of Charles K. “Pete” Estes will live on in all that he has put in place for his family and for the citizens of Rappahannock County to follow. Through many dangers, toils, and snares, I have already come; 'tis grace hath brought me safe thus far, and grace will lead me home.
