Scholarships
The Rappahannock County Garden Club will once again offer the Francis J. Leonard Memorial Scholarship grant to a senior in Rappahannock County for the purpose of continuing his or her education.
A grant of $1,500 will be awarded to a student enrolling in a four-year college or university.
The Rappahannock County Garden Club will also offer a $1,000 scholarship grant in memory of Mrs. Mary P. Marocchi.
This grant is being offered to a senior in Rappahannock County who is selecting a career in nursing or some other area of medicine.
In order to receive these scholarships, applicants must be residents of Rappahannock County, members of this years’ graduating class (home schooled or other schools), be accepted at an accredited four-year college or university, have a need for financial assistance and be recommended by two non-related residents of Rappahannock County.
Applications for the scholarships are available at the guidance department of the Rappahannock County High School and Wake field Country Day School or from Mrs. Mary Priest at 937-4072.
The deadline for returning the applications to the guidance department of the Rappahannock County High School and Wake field Country Day School is May 15. ^
