Farrar wed
Commander Jan Davis, U.S. Navy Reserve, retired, and Captain George W. Farrar, U.S. Navy, retired, both of Amissville, have the pleasure of announcing their April 1 marriage.
The ceremony was held at Weasel Hill Farm Cidery and Orchard in Amissville. Patricia Hardee and William Freitag of Tall Gate Farm Vineyards of Flint Hill attended. Norman Cartwright-Brown of Sperryville officiated.
Davis, who retired from the Navy Reserve in 2001, served in Okinawa, Chicago, Philadelphia, Tampa, and Washington D.C., before returning to her home state of Virginia to work first as a federal employee and then as a public relations consultant with Axiom Resource Management, Falls Church.
Farrar, who retired from the Navy in 2000, served on the destroyer USS Barry, home ported in Greece; at Naval Base Great Lakes, 111., in the battleship USS Iowa, home ported in Pascagoula, Miss., Naval Base Norfolk, Va., and in the Pentagon, Washington, D.C. His last assignment was as U.S. Naval Attache’ to Canada in Ottawa. He joined Booz Allen Hamilton in 2000 as a consultant in San Francisco before becoming the firm’s manager of media and press relations at its corporate offices in McLean, Va. He is an Oklahoma native, but has adopted Virginia as his home.
The couple owns and operates Weasel Hill Farm Cideiy and Orchard in Amissville, which sells seasonal premium sweet apple cider and will sell artisan hard ciders and cysers beginning in 200^
