A team is allowed, nowever, to raise an athlete from the junior varsity team to the varsity team.
There was an attempt to pick up. an athlete from Rappahannock’s Junior Varsity team, however none of the players were willing to compete at the varsity level.
Theoretically, “a Junior Varsity coach is not unwilling to support a Varsity team,” said Junior Varsity Head Coach Stephanie Shaw. “However the individual players want to make their game better at a JV level, playing at a level where they can be competitive. . . I support their decision.”
