Monday, January 15, commemorated one year since Lee Ricketts was tragically taken. To honor his memory, Mark Rhein of Cornucopia Farms brought his flock of doves to Lee’s Garden at the Washington Cemetery. Fifteen of Lee’s loved ones launched doves in flight, one at a time, each representing a prayer being sent to Lee in Heaven.
Once these doves were in flight, Mr. Rhein sent off several other doves representing angels circling above. Sheila Estes read a few words letting Lee know how much he was loved, missed and will never be forgotten. Mr. Rhein read a poem by Helen Steiner Rice entitled “God’s Promise.” This was an event the family will never forget.
