Junior Varsity
The Junior Varsity team is also off to a rough start, scoring 22 points to Madison’s 46. “We really need to work harder as a team defensively,” said Shaw. “We also need to work together as a team and start making good passes.” She noted that the team is improving and getting ready for the second round of district games. “It’s a young team,” she said. “They have a lot of potential” The team scored 51-31 in a game against Manassas Park, but were soundly defeated in a game against George Mason, with a score of 34-9.
Shaw noted that Hanna Kopjanski is the top scorer so far this year while Megan Wheatley has proved valuable in team leadership.
