Jan. 20: Registration begins for girls softball
Piedmont Softball: the registration fee is $40 for each girl playing 12 years old or younger; $45 for girls 13 years old and up. Registration dates are Saturday, January 20 (9 am - noon) and Sundays, January 28 and February 11 (1 pm - 3 pm) at Bill Payne Auction Gallery, Rt. 211 in Amissville (located between Early’s Carpet and Mayhugh’s Store). Additional registration dates are Thursday, February 1 (4 pm- 6 pm) and Wednesday, February 7 (4 pm - 6 pm) at Wakefield Country Day School on Rt. 522 north of Flint Hill. Dates for in-person sign-ups are as follows: 1/21, 1/28, 2/4 & 2/11 at the Amissville firehouse from 1-3 p.m. Players new to RCB need to bring birth certificates. All children, boys & girls, from ages 4-18 (by May 1st) are eligible to play. New for 11 and 12 year-old players, is the super Cal 50Y70’ field. Play baseball just like the professionals do. Jan. 24: Flower Arranging Classes
The Rappahannock County Garden Club is offering “basic flower arranging” classes on Wednesdays for several weeks starting January 24. Classes will be taught by Linda Taylor and held in Trinity Episcopal Church’s Parish Hall at 11AM. Anyone interested in attending should call Susan Jones at 675-3152 to register. Fee is $40 for the series.

Blue Rock is hosting a wine dinner for Pearmund Wine Cellars on Jan. 26, at Blue Rock. The wine dinner will begin at 6 p.m. and will end at 9 p.m. The dinner will be six courses, five paired with wine. The cost per person is $75, tax and gratuity not included.
