Flint Hilt Fish Fry
The Public House Fish Fry is every Friday night all winter featuring beer-battered cod with fries, slaw and tartar sauce. It is $18 per person and is all you can eat. The Public House is located at 675 Zachary Taylor Hwy in Flint Hill. Phone 540-675-1700 for information.

Rappahannock County Health Department still has flu shots available. Anyone over age 6 months is eligible to receive a flu shot. Call the health department at 675-3516 for an appointment.

The Sperryville Volunteer Fire Department annual fund drive is underway. If you have received a fund drive letter and have not sent a check, the department would greatly appreciate a donation. Your blood saves lives! Please mark your calendar and plan to donate. Remember to drink lots of fluids — water or juice are best — the day before and the day of the blood drive. Avoid caffeine, alcohol, and fatty foods. To give blood, you must be generally healthy, 17 years of age of more, and weigh at least 110 pounds. For further information call the Red Cross at 825-8611.
Jan 18: Relay meeting tonight
The kickoff meeting for all team captains of the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life is Thursday, January 18 at 7 p.m. at the Washington Baptist Church. Anyone thinking about participating as a team captain in the relay is invited as well. If you can’t come, send one of your friends or relatives to learn how to become a team captain. The relay will take place on May 19 and 20 at the Rappahannock County Elementary School. The overall plans and preparations for the upcoming Relay will be discussed at the meeting. Team packages and information to help your team get started will be available. Refreshments will be served and door prizes will be awarded.
