Women’s Health Virginia today invited artists from Virginia to submit entries for “Reflecting Women’s Wellness 2007,” the first juried art show for April’s celebration of Women & Girls’ Wellness Month in Virginia. The show will run from March 25 to May 6, 2007 at Thomas Jefferson Memorial Church Unitarian Universalist in Charlottesville. The deadline for entries is February 20.
The show will feature works by women and about women or girls. “Women’s wellness is a very broad concept, encompassing medical and non-medical issues,” said Miriam Bender, CEO of Women’s Health Virginia. “The show is designed to demonstrate the importance of art to women’s Well being, for the artist and the observer. “
The exhibition is open to all Virginia artists, male and female, age 18 and over. Entries must be original two-dimensional works no larger than 32” x 40” (including the frame) and may be in any medium. The entry fee is $20 for up to two works, with entry submission made by photo or digital print no larger than 81// x 11.
