The public is invited to attend the Amissville Ruritan Club’s annual spaghetti dinner on Saturday, October 23, at the Amissville Fire Hall from 5-7:30 p.m. Dinner includes spaghetti, salad, bread, iced tea or coffee. Advance tickets are $2.50 for adults or $4 for all-you-can-eat, $1 for children under 12 and $0 for the family plan. Advance tickets may be purchased from any member of the Amissville Ruritans or at Barron’s Country Store at Viewtown on Route 642. Tickets at the door will be $1 more for adults and 50 cents higher for children.
String Clinic Planned
A string clinic featuring members of the Athenian Trio, the trio-in-residence at Ohio University, will be held at Shenandoah College and Conservatory of Music on Saturday. October 23. The clinic is being offered to all string players and string teachers.
An open rehearsal of the Shenandoah Conservatory Symphony Orchestra, lectures on performance and literature for strings, and individual clinics will culminate with a concert by the Athenian Trio in the Goodson Chapel-Recital Hall at 7:30 p.m.
Complimentary tickets to string teachers and orchestra directors are available. There is a $5.00 student fee for all events, which includes the concert. The concert is open to the public and admission is $2.00.

Solar Aircraft Exhibited
Solar Challenger, the aircraft that made aviation history by flying across the English Channel fueled only by sunlight, will be exhibited in the rotunda of the Virginia Science Museum in Richmond October 15 through November 7, the last stop of a national tour.
Janice Brown, one of the Solar Challenger pilots, will be at the museum on October 15 between 2 and 5 p.m. to talk with visitors about the plane. She also will introduce the film, “Solar Challenger—A Sun Flight Odyssey," at 7 p.m. that evening.
Harvest Dinner Planned

The Sperryville Ladies Auxiliary will hold a Harvest Dinner, all-you-can-eat, at the fire hall on Saturday, November 6, from 5:30 until 7:30 p.m. Carry out dinners will be served from 4:30 to 5:30 only.
The menu consists of roast beef, fried oysters, barbecue spare-ribs, a variety of fall vegetables, ! salads, choice of desserts and drinks.
Tickets are $6.50 in advance and $7.50 at the door for adults; children $3.50 in advance and 1 $4.50 at the door. Tickets are available from members of the auxiliary.
