One night a few years ago a man named Frederick Willow died. His face was so miserable-looking that nobody came to his funeral. He was buried in the woods.
Later that same year a willow tree was found growing there. “It looks like a human," said the person who lived in a nearby house. It was so human-like that people thought a man was standing there. Then one night the man in the nearby house was murdered after he had uprooted the tree and dressed it to be used as a scarecrow. When the man was found, the scarecrow was gone.
Later, the scarecrow was sighted near another man’s garden. The man quickly grabbed an axe from his basement and ran outside and started hacking at the tree.
He knew the tree was really Old Man Willow but he wouldn’t tell a soul. . .there was always something about Willow that was strange. The old tree started to shed blood! Hack, hack, hack, went the axe. “I’ll g-g-get you for this,” said the willow.
Many years passed until one day the same man went to get some firewood in the forest. It was then he saw a wooden skeleton floating in the air near him! He ran back to the house and found his wife and children brutally beaten to death by a wooden club which was still thrust into his wife
To this day he is still haunted by memories of that
