20, 1977 reported that the Washington Water System well had reached a new low. The town water was to be cut off each night at 9:00 p.m. and water users were advised to be frugal.
A sudden storm on October 16 blanketed the mountain top at Panorama and hampered traffic from Skyline Drive which was closed for 24 hours. As much as six inches of snow piled up. stranding motorists between Big Meadows and Panorama.
Attorney David Konick opened a law office in Washington, Va. An article in the Rappahannock News said that Konick had first come to the county with friends in a climbing group eight years before. He bought property in Castleton where he and his wife, Julie, built a home.
An article released, appropriately near Halloween. said that the reputation of wolves was largely undeserved. One of the world’s leading authorities on wolves. Dr. David Mech, observed in the October National Georgraphic that there is not a single case of a healthy wolf attacking a person in this country.
