"All is not lost,” reported an optimistic John Capelle, assessing the chances on securing federal and statefunds to build Sperryville’s long-delayed sewer system.
The county’s request for $478,193 from the new community development block grant program’s first funding cycle was rejected two weeks ago and last Tuesday, the State Water Control Board “deferred" the $1.4 million construction grant set aside for the Sperryville project.
