Rappahannock has received $4,893 as its share of a total $4,475,401 in first quarter profits generated by the Virginia Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control for the 1982-83 fiscal year.
Currently, ABC profits are distributed on a per capita basis at the rate of 83.7 cents. The figure divided between Virginia's counties, cities, and towns represents twothirds of the department’s profits for July through September following statutory adjustments and a one-third distribution to the state's general fund.
The town of Washington has received $206 as its share of first quarter ABC profits.
The amount of funds available for distribution to localities is down by more than $1 million over the same quarter of a year ago. primarily because $1,391,650 was transferred by action of the legislature to the Department of Mental Health and Mental Retardation for alcohol-related treatment and rehabilitation programs.
Counties and cities will also share on a per capita basis $722,354 that was generated from the sale of wine. Rappahannock gets $823 from this source for the first quarter of the fiscal year.
