A scuffle at Lombardy’s in Amissvillc between Roy Stringfellow and William Roger Pickett prompted General District Judge John Alexander to issue a peace bond to both men last week.
Charges were brought by each party in the case and each pleaded not guilty, contending that the other had struck the first blow.
In fact, each side introduced witnesses who supported the contradictory facts presented by the two complainants. Pickett produced eyewitnesses, including his wife, who saw the fight and said that the 24year-old Pickett never got in a single blow against the 56year-old Stringfellow.
Stringfellow's witnesses, including family members, said tl^ it was Pickett who struck Stringfellow first.
