Christmas tree lighting was held at Barn Jountry Store on Mont ■ evening. Carolers from Amissville United Methodist youth group and young people from Amissville Baptist were special guests. Santa was present and refreshments were served. A good time was had by all and the community plans to make this an annual event.

The American Cancer Society’s VIP Holiday Cookbook is back on sale again.
The first delivery of the books sold out in Rappahannock but the county unit of the Cancer Society obtained additional copies all the way from Tennessee.
Full of wonderful recipes for cookies, candies, cakes and other special dishes as well as bits of information on past Christmases in the White House, the VIP Cookbook is available at the Rappahannock News office and the commissioner of revenue’s office for $6 a copy.
The price is tax deductible and all proceeds from the sale of the cookbooks go to support the American Cancer Society’s continuing programs of research, education and service.
