AVERAGE PAYMENT PLAN
LEVELS OUT YOUR
ELECTRIC BILLS
Potomac Edison is pleased to offer its AVERAGE PAYMENT PLAN as a convenience for all residential customers who wish to level out their electric bill payments. With this plan, you avoid paying larger bills during peak heating or cooling periods. Instead, you pay your total annual cost of electricity in averaged monthly installments. This plan costs you nothing extra. You pay only for the electricity you use.
HOW DOES THE AVERAGE
PAYMENT PLAN WORK?
The dollar amount of your monthly payment will be based on the average of your actual usage over the previous 12 months. The 12-months average figure is updated each time your meter is read (normally every two months).
By always using the latest 12-months usage, the plan adjusts to changes both in your use of electricity and current rates. Because of this selfadjusting feature, your bill may fluctuate slightly from month-to-month.
Of course, if you’re a new customer or move to a new location, you’ll have no history of electrical usage in your new residence. In such cases, we will estimate your previous 12-months usage. However, every time we read your meter, your actual use will replace the estimated figure for the similar period until we have a full 12-month history.
