The foot is a mirror of
your general health
Many times problems that are present in the body will manifest themselves in the foot. A certain pain or discoloration may not be a localized problem, but may be a problem that is affecting the entire body and showing itself on the foot. ^Sjnce the foot takes morq stress than many other areas of the body it is prone to more physical injury. A nonhealing sore on the foot could be an indication of diabetes or vascular disease. A rash on the foot may not be a fungus infection (athlete’s foot) but may be a sign of diabetes, vascular insufficiency, a generalized infection or other systemic problems. Many patients think gout affects only the foot, however, it also has a strong affect on the kidneys and other joints. Rheumatoid arthritis and other arthritic diseases may start with a swollen joint in the foot.
