Open House For Artists
Spectra School of Design is planning an open house for local artists and craftsmen on Sunday, January 2. beginning at 2 p.m.
Director Donald Chandler is interested in sharing ideas on how the school and Rappahannock's art community can work together. Spectra is located on Route 322 north of Flint Hill.
John Jackson
In Concert
Country blues great John Jackson. Rappahannock's most famous musical son, will perform in concert at the Gay Street Theater on Friday. December 17.
Jackson will be joined on stage by his son, Jamie, and his friend. Bill McGinness. Tickets for the performance, which is sponsored by the Rappahannock Association for the Arts and the Community, are available at Middle St. Gallery, now located next door to The Inn at Little Washington, and Natures Foods and Cafe. Seating in the theater is limited to approximately 200 and only 40-some tickets remain unsold, according to R A AC.
Living Nativity

Again this year, Rappahannock County’s United Methodist Churches will present a living nativity scene.
The birth of the Christ child will be re-enacted on Saturday, December 13, from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. in the shed on the George Davis property on Route 211 a half mile east of Washington. The hillside display can be viewed from the road. Visitors may also walk up the pathway bordered by luminiari to the shed where they can hear as well as see the Christmas story.
F.T. Baptist
The F.T. Valley Baptist Church will conduct its Christmas program on Sunday. December 19 at 11 a.m. All are invited to attend.
Reynolds Memorial
The Reynolds Memorial Baptist Church in Sperryville will present The Christmas Birthday on Sunday. December 19 at 7 p.m.
Candlelight service at the church will be on Christmas Eve at 7 p.m.
Flint Hill Methodist
The Flint Hill United Methodist Church will have its annual Christmas program at the church on Wednesday. December 22 at 7:30 p.m. The public is invited.
Forest Grove Baptist
The Forest Grove Baptist Church in Viewtown will present a Christmas program with a candlelight service and the singing of carols on Sunday, December 19 at 11 a.m. The public is welcome to attend.
