Coach Dawson said he wasn’t happy with the team’s 26 fouls which he described as silly and unnecessary. He had a big smile, however, for the 20 assists credited to Rappahannock.
Pendleton led the Panthers with 16 points followed by Myers with 15 Tom Sisk had ten rebounds and Mike Leake pulled in nine.
“We’re finally playing like we practice," the coach concluded after the Panthers’ three game sweep.
JV Wins Two
The J.V. Panthers won a hard fought battle with Luray, defeating the Bulldogs, 34-27, after leading 19-4 at the half in Friday’s away contest. Tommy Jenkins was top gun with 16 points.
They had an easier time with the J.V. Blldogs on their home court Monday, stomping their over-themountain opponents, 51-25. Three players hit double figures for the Panthers: Thomas Rector 12, Rob Brown had 11 and Tommy Jenkins again led all scorers with 15.
The Junior Panthers ended their three-game winning streak with a 35-36 squeeker against the Page Panthers at home on Tuesday. The Panthers had 22 turn-overs and were just seven out of 14 from the free throw line. Rob Brown was high scorer with 14 points.
