The open ranch class is for experienced handlers with young or novice dogs and the ranch class is for novice handlers and novice dogs. The outrun will be shortened for these two classes and there will be only an outrun, fetch and pen for the ranch dogs.
The Blue Ridge Open trial will be a Class A trial qualifying for the 1083 national finals of the United States Border Collie Handlers Association.
Jack Knox, of Wisconsin, will be the judge. Knox has conducted sheep dog handlers training clinics at Sunnybrook for the last three years.
