Spotlighted
The program for the Gospel Extravaganza set for Sunday, April 24, at the elementary school, will be highlighted by outstanding local talent.
According to organizer Rachel Aylor, performers will include the Voices of Inspiration from Macedonia Baptist Church in Flint Hill, the youth choir from Washington’s Promised Land, the ^ men’s chorus from Hopewell Baptist in Sperryville, the Bethel Baptist Choir from Amissville and the Jackson Family Singers from,Reva. In addition, Roberta Jackson from Shiloh Baptist in Woodville will present several solo numbers. Arrangements are continuing to schedule several additional groups.
Advance tickets, at $2.50 for adults and $1 for children, are available at the Rappahannock News office in Washington and the Corner Post Restaurant in Flint Hill and from Charlie Lewis (987-8126) in Sperryville, Rachel Aylor (987-8118) in Washington and Lillian Taylor (635-8756) in Front Royal. Admission at the door for the 3 p.m. performance will be $3 for adults and $1 for children with all proceeds going to the Hopewell Baptist Church’s building fund.
