She describes sewing as “an imaginative kind of thing—I see a bolt of material and I visualize it into a garment. I don’t always know when I begin just what it is that I’ll end up with.”
She spends 30 to 40 hours a week sewing. “It’s a discipline to be able to sit for any long period of time and I’ve had to teach myself that discipline. I have this theory that anybody wTho can read can sew or cook. I didn’t know how to do either when I got married!” Marilyn added with a laugh.
