Talent Show

A Talent Show sponsored by the Rappahannock High School Booster Club will be held on Friday, April 22 at 8 p.m. at the high school.

Prizes will be awarded based on originality, skill and clarity and evidence of preparation.

125 Breeds On Parade

More than 1,700 dogs are entered in the 1983 Shawnee Kennel Club All-Breed Dog Show scheduled for Thursday, April 21, at the Frederick County Fairgrounds from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

The Shawnee Kennel Club show is a part of the Cherry Blossom Circuit, a series which attracts many of the nation’s top dogs, representing almost all of the 125 breeds recognized by the American Kennel Club.

A portion of the proceeds from the show will be donated to the Winchester SPCA, the Shenandoah County Humane Society, and the Berkeley County Humane Society. The public is invited to attend.

Park Dedication

A dedication and ribbon-cutting ceremony of the new facilities at the Rappahannock County Park will be held on Sunday, May 1, at 2 p.m.

Congressman J. Kenneth Robinson, Delegate Raymond “Andy” Guest and Eldon James, director of the Commission of Outdoor Recreation will be the honored guests.

The funds for construction of the new facilities at the Rappahannock County Park were received from the Department of the Interior through the Virginia Commission of Outdoor Recreation.

Everyone is invited to attend. There will be tennis and basketball exhibitions and refreshments will be served.
