NOTICE TO THE PUBLIC The Commission of Game and Inland Fisheries has ordered to be published, pursuant to Sections 29125, 29-126, and 29-127 of the Code of Virginia, the following proposed changes in Commission regulations applicable Statewide. A public hearing on the advisability of adopting, or amending and adopting, each of the proposed changes, or any part thereof, will be held at the Holiday Inn-Midtown, 3200 W. Broad Street, Richmond, Virginia, beginning at 9:30a.m. on April 29, 1983. at which any interested citizen present shall be heard. If the Commission is satisfied that proposed changes in its regulations, or any parts thereof, are advisable, in the form in which published or as amended as a result of the public hearing, the Commission may adopt each such proposal, acting upon the proposals separately or in block.
PART II. GAME.
CHAPTER 2. In General. Amend Regulation R2-5(a) to read as follows:
It shall be unlawful to hunt with a dog or gun or have in possession a strung bow, or a gun which is not unloaded and cased or dismantled, m the national forests and on Commission - owned lands and on lands managed by the Commission under cooperative agreement except during the period when it is lawful to hunt bear, deer, grouse, pheasant, quail, rabbit, raccoon, squirrel, turkey, waterfowl in all counties west of the Blue Ridge Mountains and migratory game birds in all counties east of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The provisions of this subsection shall not prohibit the establishment and operation of archery and shooting ranges on national forest lands for the purpose of sighting in rifles and general shooting withmg established and identified range boundaries The use of firearms and bows in such ranges during the closed hunting period will be restricted to the area within established range boundaries Such weapons shall be required to be unloaded and cased or dismantled in all areas other than within the range boundaries. The use of firearms or bows during the closed hunting period in such ranges shall be restricted to target practice only and no birds or animals shall be molested.
Add a new regulation to be numbered R2-8.5 to read as follows:
It shall be unlawful to willfully molest, damage or remove any trap, or any lawfully caught bird or animal therefrom, or in any way disturb
