meeting, the supervisors reaffirmed a decision made last month that the county will retain ownership of all materials salvaged from the jail during remodeling. At the board’s November session, the supervisors had voted unanimously to direct Peyton Baughan, contractor for the project, to return salvaged items now stored in a warehouse in Page County to the court house parking lot.
The issue arose again when architect Hunger Spencer persented a contract change order for approval on Monday. The last item related to salvage rights. “A question came up earlier in the job regarding salvage. Mr. Baumgardner (commonwealth’s and county attorney and the board’s legal advisor) met with Mr. Baughan. I haven’t heard anything else-since,” Spencer said.
