Your regular Rappahannock New s Drama critic will no doubt have a review of the play Voices of Rappahannock which opened last Friday night. I shall not repeat much of what that reviewer is sure to say, but some things can bear repeat - ings and the use of superlatives.
For example: the writing and directing...outstanding: staging and scenery...dominated by a huge stone chimney left standing in the woods, so realistic you want to climb onto the stage and feel its texture, and brilliantly innovative, the way it can instantly become a fireplace with pots cooking a meal over an open fire; special sound and lighting effects... so realistic, especially in the scene depicting one of Rappahannock’s most tragic and awesome storms, put the audience into the experience along with the excellent actors (It comes as a revelation to witness such dramatic talent among the children. ); original music by local musicians... country blues by John Jackson, and songs like “I’ve got a Mountain Out My Window” and “Tornado” bv Bill Abernathy and Ron Wilson which reveal a sensitivity to and an
