Perhaps Mrs. Kidwell could have squeezed an additional line in right after the "facts" paragraph. It could have read: “This whole mess is the result of a serious judgement error for whichJ am truly sorry.”
Mrs. Kidwell stated that she shot Ranee “because I was afraid I was going to die when he reached for his gun." How did she know he was carrying a gun? Was it ever confirmed that he was reaching for a *gun which just happened to be in a holster under several layers of clothing? Perhaps he was reaching for a cigarette.
