“At the last meeting, we asked that (the materials) be brought back,” noted Supervisor Hubert Gilkey. “I’d like to delete that,” he added, referring to the resolution agreeing that salvage removed from the project by Baughan Construction Company is the property of the general contractor.
“And I think Sheriff Buntin has some other things he’d like to have put on the change order,” Gilkey added.
Spencer noted that, according to Department of Corrections officials, furnishings for the renovated jail qualify for one-half reimbursement from the state as long as the $163,000 limit on the renovation project isn’t exceeded. “Just save the receipts,” he advised the sheriff.
