At Monday’s regular monthly meeting of the board, Konick presented highlights from the letter and asked the matter to be resolved. At the conclusion of his remarks, no Supervisor offered comment.
However, following a 90-minute closed session in which Supervisors said they sought counsel from their attorney Peter Luke, Supervisor Richard Latham made a motion to continue the shelter plans as proposed and invite neighbors and interested persons to tour the site and inspect building plans.
In a telephone interview Monday night, Konick said the Dellingers plan to petition the county’s board of zoning appeals to challenge the building permit.
“While this matter can hopefully be resolved to everyone’s satisfaction,” the letter states, “The Dellingers have been advised that an appeal of the zoning administrator’s decision to issue the building permit must be filed by Nov. 15. If the board fails to act on their request...our clients will have no alternative but to pursue other remedies to protect their rights.”
At Monday’s meeting, Konick told the board: “I think you don’t have anything to gain by not holding a hearing.”
