The Virginia Department of Highways and Transportation has an opening for a Highway Equipment Operator B at the Rappahannock Area Headquarters. Applications are available at the Warrenton Residency Office, located at Warrenton, Va. or at any Virginia Employment Commission. Completed applications must be submitted to the Warrenton Residency Office by 5:00 P.M., Friday, November 15,1985. Duties: Operates and maintains medium-duty highway equipment, such as trucks, loaders, graders, dozers, tractors, rollers and backhoes, to accomplish tasks related to snow removal, preventive and corrective maintenance work and State force construction. Performs manual labor and supervises laborers in performing road maintenance duties or operating equipment. Performs preventive and minor maintenance on equipment. Fills out equipment rental records and time sheets. Qualifications: Valid Virginia Operator’s license. Ability to operate trucks, loaders, graders, dozers, tractors, rollers and backhoes. Must be physically able to perform heavy manual labor. Ability to complete reports on hours worked and materials used. Ability to instruct others in operating and maintaining equipment. 1
Salary: $12,266 $16,765 (Grade 5)
