THE PEACE OF GOD ?
One of the greatest needs of mankind £ in the world today is peace. The world J searches for peace and fulfillment in many* different ways; through money, drugs, ca-£ reers and many other avenues to find thisj peace. The only tree and lasting peace isjy the peace that God offers to those who willg receive it. £
Peace has a two-fold meaning to us. 9 The first is receiving Jesus Christ as our#* personal saviour. We were once alienated? £ from God because of our sin, but making $ if Jesus Lord of our lives causes us to have 0 J peace with God. JF 9 It tells us in Romans 5:1; "Therefore j 9 being justified by faith we have peace j w with God through our Lord Jesus Christ." 1 The second part I want to share with you is j that we can have the peace of God. This j kfcid of peace Is available to us according! to God's word. He promises us peace! when we follow the stepe that are laid out ] tor us in His word ;
Phil. 4:7 says, "And the peace of God1 which passeth all understanding shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ' Jesus.” But In order for us to enjoy this < great promise, we must follow the steps ! laid out for us in verses 4 thru 6. Here the 9 apostle Paul tods us to rejoice in the Lord 0 always. In verse 6. he says to be careful £ (anxious) tor nothing. S
This is one of the keys to having the £ PEACE OF GOO. Paul is saying, instead of worrying and being anxious, to rejoice. The rest of that 6th verse says, “but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving make your request known to Gpd."
Paul Is saying, instead of being anxious or worrying, to rejoice, to pray, make supplication or petition, with thanksgiving; and after having done this then the promise in verse 7 of PhD. 4 is ours. The PEACE OF GOO will come on you like He promised.
HALLELUJAH! God's peace will come on you, as you believe and trust his word.
