New volunteers sport red jackets
Men join CMH Auxiliary
Several members of the CMH Auxiliary are wearing a new style of uniform: red jackets. Pink smocks did notseem appropriate for these members, since the ranks of the Auxiliary have been joined over the past year by several men who are volunteering their time at Culpeper Memorial Hospital.
Eight retired men and one student are volunteers on the reception desk, on the switchboard,the coffee shop, or the gift shop.
Manning the reception desk in the evenings are Gilbert Coiner, Phil Kearns, and Edwin Rodda of Culpeper. In addition, Carl Robinson of Orange, a senior at Woodberry Forest School, works a shift on Sundays to fill a community service requirement.
Having these gentlemen at the reception desk in the evenings has been a special help to the Auxiliary, because they also open the Gift Shop o visitors during these hours.
Henry Lewis of Culpeper works evenings on the hospital switchboard, and John Witherspoon of Reva has been the treasurer of the Gift Shop for seven years.
The Auxiliary is also delighted to have Herman (Jiggs) Bowman, C. Edgar Bryant, and Angus Green of Culpeper serving in the Coffee Shop.
