New librarian
appointed

On July 4 Audrey G. (Dee) Brents was appointed librarian of the Rappahannock County Library by the Library Board of Trustees. On July 14, she took over the position from which Grace Sims has resigned after two and a half years of energetic and professional leadership in upgrading and expanding library operations.
Mrs. Brents is well qualified in respect to education and experience. She has a bachelor of arts degree from Hollins College where she was an English major and a cum laude graduate. She has worked at the Library of Congress in the Talking Books Department and helped establish a radio station for the blind. As assistant to a vice president of the Dominion Savings and Loan in the settlement department, she disbursed loan funds averaging $18 million per month. She is a licensed insurange agent in Virginia and a licensed real estate agent in Virginia and Texas.
For five months, from October 1983 to February 1984, Mrs. Brents worked as librarian in our library. Before and after that period she was .and has been a valuable weekly volunteer. Thus she is familiar with library methods and functions as well as being part of the Rappahannock community.
Dee Brents will be ably supported by Assistant Librarian Cindy Dodson, who has shown outstanding competence since she started working under Mrs. Sims in the fall of 1985. Grace Sims will continue to
