the county’s kennel is agreed on. The Board of Supervisors has expressed a preference for the kennel to be located on the same site as the county’s future landfill.
Some modifications will have to be made to Mr. Klein’s kennel to satisfy the state’s requirements. Several new runs will be erected and a concrete slab will be poured. That slab will for the base for a modular structure owned by the county which will house the dogs.
Until Mr. Klein’s facility is ready, Madison County has agreed to take Rappahannock’s strays and house them in its new, state approved shelter, with Rappahannock County paying the boarding costs.
