Rachel, age six, was spending vacation with her grandparents out on their large farm. Grandad had taken her for a long tour of the farm. They went over the fields of growing corn, beans, and everything else birthed and nurtured by God’s great world.
When she returned, Rachel found her grandmother busy in the kitchen. “I wish I had granddaddv’s eves,” she said.
“Why so, honey?”
“Well, he saw God in everything out there. He saw God in the corn, the trees, the little spring of water, even in the birdnest we found. Know what, he even saw God in the cows and horses and pigs. I sure wish I had his eyes.”
“Ah, honey,” grandmother said, putting her arms around her little granddaughter. “It is not your grandaddv’s eyes you want It is his FAITH.”
Then she kissed Rachel, knelt down and looked her straight in the eyes. “One day, if you work at it, you will have his faith. Then you will see God in everything. Because this is His world. And He is EVERYWHERE if you have faith to see Him.”
