In asking the supervisors for the emergency resolution, Extension Agent Birgitt Thornhill reported a 50 percent reduction in the first hay cutting of the season. There hhs been no second cutting, she told the board. And with pastures “just gone,” livestock producers are already having to feed those meager hay reserves, she said.
