L. V. Merrill had surgery Friday at the Winchester Medical Center due to a fall at the Bon Air Home which resulted in a broken hip. His daughter Mrs. Marilyn Bailey has been visiting him regularly and says he is expected to return to the Bon Air Home by the middle of the week.
Congratulations to Chris Smoot, son of Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Smoot, on winning the $500 given away Saturday night at the Chester Gap carnival.
Mrs. Anna Fincham was entertained Sunday by friends at Big Meadows on the Skyline Drive in celebration of her anniversary. Mrs. Fincham and her late husband Ollie were former residents of Washington.
