Denise L. Wingfield of Sperryville has been chosen by James Madison University to design the tour of the nature trail at the University’s arboretum, and will also write the visitor guide.
Miss Wingfield, a 1984 JMU graduate, teaches biology and coaches girls’ varsity tennis at Fauquier High School. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dennis B. Winfield.
The arboretum covers 30 acres of forest across Interstate 81 from the main college campus and includes flora of the Ridge and Valley Province of the Eastern Deciduous Forest, a wide variety of wildflowers and an array of plant habitats.

late registration
Lord Fairfax Community College will conduct registration for courses which begin on Wednesday, July 30, on the 30th from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Admissions Office. The courses are the third part of a three part sequence and will continue through August 23.
With the exception of English Composition III, which has a prerequisite, the other courses, General Biology III, General Geology III, History of Western Civilization III, and History and Appreciation of Art III, all may be taken out of sequence.
Tuition is $17 per credit in-state and $81 out-of-state and is due when registering. First time students must submit an application for admission.
