Kappahannock almost lost its Water and Sewer Authority last week.
WSA attorney Douglas Baumgardner staved off resignations from a majority of the Authority members at last Thursday’s meeting when they learned that they were excluded from the county’s public officials liability coverage. And even with assurances from legal counsel that they were in “no danger of losing the family farm,” they acted solely on matters that appeared to pose no potential liability. All other business was postponed until this Thursday when the WSA will meet jointly with the Rappahannock Board of Supervisors.
