Will the Board of Supervisors allow the long delayed capital outlay project for Rappahannock County High School to get underway?
That’s the question the School Board wants answered.
At last month’s meeting, the School Board discussed and approved a letter to the supervisors, requesting a statement of intention as to whether the $1.5 million Literary Loan for the high school expansion will be accepted. The letter outlined information reviewed at a joint supervisor/School Board work session on October 9:
• The Literary Loan will be awarded in December or January.
• The project must begin, with bids advertised, within 60 days or the high school’s building program drops back to the bottom of the funding list with an estimated two-year wait until money is again available.
