‘Second Friday’

program series

The Rappahannock County Library program committee is planning a series of talks on a variety of subjects which it hopes will appeal to a broad segment of the county community. The talks will be held the second Friday of each month and will take place either at the Library or at a location better suited to the particular presentation.

The first speaker, on Friday, Dec. 12, will be Edward Clark, veteran Life magazine photographer. During the recent celebration of Life's 50th anniversary, Mr. Clark was interviewed on several national TV shows, and his work was mentioned in magazine and newspaper articles as being one of the driving forces behind the magazine’s success.

This Saturday, Nov. 15, ABC TV’s Barbara Walters will devote a segment of her special to an interview with Mr. Clark. The two-hour retrospective will review the 50year history of Life, the first photojournal magazine. The show airs at 9 p.m.

Because of his pre-eminence in the field of photo-journalism, and the recognition which his work has attained, the committee is planning to hold this presentation at the Gay Street Theatre. The theatre will afford, more seating and a larger
