After graduation from the College of William and Mary, she moved to the Washington area and was employed at the General Accounting Office until her marriage.
Survivors include a daughter Elizabeth Anne Stilling of Baltimore, two sons, William P. Schmidt of Arlington and Michael jB. Schmidt of Batesville, Ark., and one grandson Thomas W. Stilling.
, A funeral service was conducted at St. Ann’s Church in Arlington with interment at Fail-view Cemetery, Culpeper.
Mary van Brederode
Mary S. van Brederode, of Manassas, died November 2.
Mrs. van Brederode moved to Rappahannock County in 1966 after she retired as a music teacher in New York and New Jersey, and lived at Blue Rock Farm here until 1979. She was a past member of the Rappahannock County Garden Club, and was currently taking arts classes at Northern Virginia Community College in Manassas.
She is survived by two daughters, Kathleen Pawloski of Babylon, N. Y., and Joanne McClelland of Manassas, two sons, Robert van Brederode of Hackettstown, N. J., and Richard van Brederode of Jacksonville, Fla., and two sisters, Katharine Chubb of Sharon, Mass., and Margaret Pryde of Washington.
A graveside service was cpnducted November 5 at Mahwah, N. J., by the Rev. Robert Bender.
