“I’m very much aware that I was reacting to a ‘worst case scenario,’ but that’s what I have to do,” said Superintendent Robert Estabrook, explaining why he postponed a scheduled performance of a West African dance troupe before students in the gifted and talented programs at both public schools last week.
Pressed for what prompted his action, Mr. Estabrook cited an unidentified parent’s report over what was described as rising racial tension between black and white students at the high school.
