Bank in mid-October.
The project will cost slightly over $500,000 of which about half has been raised. The Food Bank is currently making an appeal for local support to complete the project. According to Phil Grasty, Executive Director, “unlike most non-profit organizations, the Food Bank exists primarily to assist other charities. The Food Bank serves the largest network of service providers in most communities. The completion of the warehouse project will mean a much better variety and a more continual flow of food to churches and other member agencies throughout our entire service area. Since our beginning, individuals, companies and groups from throughout this section of Virginia have provided support and I am sure they will again rally around and help meet the needs of their neighbors!”
Those wishing to contribute may mail donations to “Warehouse Fund” at any of these addresses: P.O. Box 1365, Staunton, VA 24401; P.O. Box 6415, Charlottesville, VA 22906; P.O. Box 3142, Winchester, VA 22601; P.O. Box 2272, Lynchburg, VA 24501.
