Dance at Amissville
The band Crossroads will play for a dance sponsored by the Amissville Volunteer Fire Department Saturday, March 14, from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. Proper dress is required and persons attending must be 21 years of age. For reservations or additional information call 9374357.
‘Stranger than Paradise9
The movie Stranger than Paradise will be playing at the Gay Street Theatre Saturday and Sunday, March 14 and 15, at 7:30 p.m. The movie stars John Lurie, Eszter Balint and Richard Edson. This highly original and extremely funny first film of Director Jim Jarmusch won the Best First Film award at Cannes and Best Picture from the National Society of Film Critics. Portraying the impact of American and Hungarian cultures, it is marked by the creative use of editing and cinematography on black and white film. Set in New York and Florida, it is an entertaining and absorbing comedy. The movie is rated R. Admission is $3 for adults and $2 for children.
ARB to meet
The Architectural Review Board will meet Thursday, March 19, at 8 p.m. in the courthouse. Interested persons are urged to attend.
Applications for placement testing
Notre Dame Academy, Middleburg, a Catholic day and boarding school for girls, is currently accepting and processing applications for the 1987-88 academic year. Placement testing for all accepted students will be held on Saturday, March 28, from 8 a.m. until approximately 2 p.m.
Parents of accepted students should be present for meetings on this day from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. Uniform orders will be taken from 12 noon until 2 p.m. Fer all students accepted after this date, placement testing will be held J;une ,13 and will follow the same schedule as that oft March 28. Summer baseball registration
Registration for T-Ball, Little League or Babe Ruth will be held on Saturday, March 14, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. and on Saturday, March 21, from 2 to 3:30 p.m. at the Rappahannock County Elementary School baseball fields. Registration fee for T-Ball and Little League will be $10 for the first two children in a family and $5 for each additional child. Babe Ruth registration fee will be $15 for each child.
Fashion show planned
“Bon Voyage” is the theme ofthe annual fashion show sponsored by the Rappahannock Woman’s Club to be held Sunday, April 5, at 2 p.m. at the Rappahannock Elementary School.
Fashions are by Frank’s and Warren Quality Shop of Front Royal, Jack & Jill of Culpeper, The Second Look and The Peppermint Stick of Madison.
Proceeds will go toward the Woman’s Club scholarship and Rappahannock Area Little League Baseball safety equipment. Advance tickets may be purchased from any member.
