membership consisting of individuals interested in handling fund raising events and department business. Please come and lend your special talents. Our monthly business meetings are held on the first Wednesday of each month at 8 p.m. at the fire hall.

The Fire Department has been busy with many activities over the past year. Events scheduled for .the coming year include an auction Matoh 21, spaghetti dinner March 28, carnival and parade June 10-13, truck and tractor pull Aug. 22, craft show, October (date to be announced), dances, March 14, April 4 and 25, May 30, Aug. 8, Sept. 12, Nov. 7, Dec. 19 and 31.

The fire hall is for rent on a private basis. We have ample parking, spacious banquet facilities, large kitchen and adequate restroom facilities for your special occasions. Please contact Jim Woodard, House Committee Chairman, for reservations at 937-5480.

The most notable item in the department’s financial picture this year is the pay-off of a note on our rescue squad. The amount paid was $9,533.51 plus interest.

Another proud achievement of the Amissville Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad was the completion of Squad 3. This vehicle has been several years in the procuring and refurbishing process. We now have a well equipped light Rescue and Salvage vehicle which was placed in service in January to serve the Amissville community as well as to give mutual aid to all other local fire and rescue companies when requested.
