Sally Cunningham, who designed the pairs course for the Hunter Pace event, took first place honors, with her partner James Atkins, in the fast time division. Ms. Cunningham also finished fourth in the William Noble Lane Foxhunters’ Race.
She is a four-time winner of the fast time division of the Hunter Pace race, where the object is self-explanatory: complete the course as fast as possible.
Sara W. Adams, riding Tiger, and Sandra Cartwright-Brown, aboard Rachel, also representing the Rappahannock Hunt, finished third in the optimum time division. The winners of that division finished 25 seconds slower than the sealed time set by the pace rider. The second and third place teams finished five and six seconds slower, respectively.
