May is American Heart 8 Memorial Month ... a time to honor and keep the memory of a loved one alive while helping others live longer, healthier lives through a contribution to the American Heart Association’s Memorial Program.
The memorial program, which is on-going throughout the year, offers individuals or groups the opportunity to memorialize a deceased family member, friend of business associate in the form of a contribution to support the research and education programs of the American Heart Association. During May, people who have recently, or in the past, lost someone special to cardiovascular disease, can join the American Heart Association in its fight against this dreaded killer.
"The daily newspapers around the state are constant reminders of the tremendous number of deaths we suffer in Virginia due to heart disease,” says Kathy Kattmann, state campaign chairman of the Virginia Affiliate. “Memorial contributions are a simple and meaningful way to remember the people who have been special to us and, in turn, honor their names in the fight against heart disease.”
