The Rappahannock County High School choir is ending the year feeling pleased about their accomplishments for the 1986-87 school session.
The choir, directed by Kathy Foxx, attended two choral festivals. They weTe the District 9 Choral Festival and the Kings Dominion Festival.
The District 9 Festival was held at Culpeper County High School in March. The choir prepared three pieces for judging: an Italian song, “Fa Una Canzona” by Veechie; a contemporary piece, “The Stars Are With A Voyager” by Houston Bright; and a jazz selection, “Add A Riff’ by Sol Burkowitz. The group received one excellent and one superior rating for its performance.
In April, the choir traveled to Kings Dominion. They performed at the Mason Dixon Hall in front of judges and audience. Then they had the rest of the day to eiyoy the park. Three pieces were prepared: a very difficult piece, “The Road Not Taken” by Randall Thompson; a eat cred selection,' “Every VaHey” by * John Ness Beck; and “Add A Riff.”
